The FlashTech 400 Series provides 360° horizontal beam pattern to aid pilots in the identification of the runway in use. The 400 series is a versatile system that can be configured as a REIL or an ODAL system. Additional lights can be added as well for other non-standard lead-in light systems. FlashTech systems are available in either Voltage or Current-Driven configurations and are compatible with air-to-ground radio controllers and ground-to-ground remote systems. Through the use of the optional 435 Controller, the Voltage-Driven system can be controlled through the current-driven runway lighting system. The Current-Driven system is powered directly from a constant current regulator (through and L-830 isolation transformer) and thus can be tied directly to the existing runway lighting. Both the Current and Voltage system can be set for single or three-step brightness. Flashhead can be either co-mounted or separately mounted for greater versatility.

The FlashTech 400 series is the most reliable and economically installed omnidirectional Voltage or Current-Driven system in the world. It can be used as a simple Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL) system or a complete OmniDirectional Approach Lighting System (ODAL) for runway alignment and runway threshold marking. The uniquely developed flashhead and power converter can be mounted together to form a single unit or separately to adapt to specific terrain needs.
