| The FlashTech 800 Series
The FlashTech 800 Series provides an aimed unidirectional
beam to
aid pilots in the identification of the runway in use. The
800 series is a versatile system that can be configured to
form: REIL, MALSF, MALSR, SSALSR, ALSAF I and II approach
systems. These systems can be configured to meet any
specially designed system where additional lights are
required. FlashTech systems are available in either Voltage
or Current-Driven configurations and are compatible with
air-to-ground radio controllers and ground-to-ground remote
systems. The FlashTech 183 Controller can be used to monitor
and control the intensity of the strobes from a remote
location. The Current-Driven configuration is powered
directly from the constant current regulator (through an
L-830 isolation transformer) and thus can be tied directly
to the existing runway lighting circuit. Both systems can be
set for single, or three step intensity and are field
programmable. These units can be either co-mounted, or
separately mounted for greater versatility.
The FlashTech 800 series is the most reliable and
economically installed unidirectional Voltage or
Current-Driven system in the world. Used as a simple
Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL) system or as an
addition to complete any number of lead in light systems
like MALSR, MALSF, SSALSR, ALSF I and II for runway
alignment and runway threshold marking. The uniquely
developed flashhead and power converter may be mounted
together to form a single unit or separately to adapt to
specific terrain needs.

Maintenance
An extensive instruction manual and drawings are
provided with each system. Trained maintenance personnel
and information on support programs are readily
available through Flash Technology’s field service
engineering department. Training is available through
Flash University.
